The Best Pub Meal You Can Get
Usually when you think of pub food, you think of ok food at
not bad prices. Fort St Union (http://www.fortstreetunion.co.nz/)
breaks the mould with its spit roasted meals. They lock a huge amount of flavour
into the slow cooked chicken and there’s plenty of it to fill you up. This is
complemented by sauces of your choice. The more people you go with the cheaper
but it’s about $28 per head and worth every cent. A great casual place for some
great food in a unique atmosphere.

Brilliant Masks In Auckland
There seems to always be a masquerade event happening somewhere. I went to one a couple weeks back and needed a mask. I visited Sally and she put together a mask that covered half of my face. It fit perfectly and was exactly what I was after. Since it is made out out of light materials instead of porcelain, I was very happy to wear it all night. Her masks seem to be between $35 to $60 depending on how complicated the mask is. If you wasn't a special mask for a masquerade event, there is no beating Sally's talent (http://www.masquerade.co.nz/)

Teleportation The New Postal Service?
Teleportation could seem a little far-fetched however it
seems like it could be a reality. Scientists in Vienna have been working on
breaking items down into quantum bits, transporting these particles and reassembling
them on the other end. From a security perspective, this is a very attractive
idea as there is no duplicate of what has been sent. For more on this look see http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2004/08/0818_040818_teleportation.html.
Finally! Progress With The Flying Car
Terrafugia have finally made a 8 minute flight with their
prototype Transition car-plane. They are currently looking at production next
year. For $340,000 NZD it would be a toss up between a supercar or a car that
can really fly. For the full article of this amazing piece of engineering, see http://www.nzherald.co.nz/motoring/news/article.cfm?c_id=9&objectid=10796371

Designer Drink
Roberto Cavalli has a Vodka out. Yes the bottle is great of corse. I tried this a while back and it is a very smooth vodka. It retails for $109 per bottle (from http://www.topshelfliquor.co.nz/estore/style/662263007525.aspx). As nice as it is, you are paying for the name. Grey Goose is a Vodka is the same league (if not a little nicer). It retails at about $80 per bottle. If I had to choose between the two, I would have to go for Grey Goose just because it is such a well made drink. If these are far out of your price range, why not opt for what I class as the most amazing $30 bottle of Vodka. 26000 is a grain vodka that is a million times smoother than Smirnoff and goes well with almost anything. You can get it from most liquor stores. I would recommend going for the Li Chi flavor as it is just a little different.

The Best Electric Car Yet!
Telsa has been around for a few years now and they seem to be
doing very well (they shouldn't go bust. The company is owned by the same guy that owns Paypal). Its an electric car that does the things a real car can. Their
cars acceleration are in the relms of supercars (0-60 MPH in 3.7), they have a
range of 245 miles (about 400km) and are electronically limited to 125mph
(about 200 kmph). They are nice looking cars and you can pick one up for under $50,000
USD. I probably spend about 10% of that on petrol every year so in the big
scheme of things, its not a bad idea. Check them out (http://www.teslamotors.com)
